Spider-Man PS4 release date is September 7, 2018


After God of War, Spider-Man PS4 is going to be Sony's biggest release of 2018. Developed by Ratchet & Clank studio Insomniac, the vast, glossy, AAA Spidey game looks like the most 'serious' superhero adaptation in video games since the start of Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series. With the full weight of Marvel co-operation behind it, this game is a far cry from the bad old days of consistently 6/10 Spider-churn.

With so much talent behind it, in fact, it feels very much like the video game equivalent of Marvel's work with the MCU. And while certain hard facts have been the subject of mystery and speculation - we know that its an open-world game, starring a peak, 23 year-old Peter Parker, and focuses just as much on his civilian life as the superheroic - there is a lot more to discuss, taking in everything we've gleaned from the game's E3 2016 reveal until now. Spider-Man (2018) is a comple tely new game about the Spider-Man, which has nothing to do with the projects of the Beenox studio. Moreover, it has nothing to do with any comics or films in the universe of "Spider" - the plot is completely independent and written specifically for the game. Nevertheless, the game is part of the "Marvel Game Universe", which also includes The Avengers Project from Square Enix.

The game is an adventure action from the third person with the open world, the events of which unfold in New York. Players will use a variety of Spider-Man skills, like flying on cobwebs and crawling on walls, plus try out a whole new set of possibilities that were not previously present in any Spider game - for example, parruk and the use of cold and firearms.
